How many feet of space should I leave around my dance pole?
I have a Lil’ Mynx dance pole that I am installing and I need to know how many feet of space I should have. I know it should be enough to swing around, but that it is hard to gauge without having it up. Does anyone know?? Thanks!!
It can be difficult because you need to concentrate on two things that are very important; you have to make sure that the top dome of the pole is placed with pressure on two beams so that you’re not damaging the ceiling and it won’t fall down. Once you have figured out which direction your beams run and how wide apart they are, you can look at the space that is available. Depending on how tall you are, you don’t need a great deal of space, but you do need to make sure you have plenty of clearance for when you start wearing those sexy platforms! Place an object on the floor directly where you have decided the beams will meet, and extend your arms as though you have one hand on the pole and you are simply walking around it. That will be ok room for beginers. If you’re more advanced (or your legs are longer then most), then walk around with your arm AND leg extended. This will ensure that you don’t try a new fan kick or the snake… and crash your ankles against the bookshelf!
Good luck, and congrats on starting pole dancing!

If you are doing any striptease/exotic dance on the pole that require things like fan kicks and wide counterbalance poses, I think a 2-3 foot radius would be best.
