Do you take classes, or just do it at home? Cos we always wax the poles at my poledancing class to help us keep our grip, and it works wonders.
References :
I always bring nail polish remover pads with me to the pole dancing fitness class I take at my gym, and they are awesome at helping me keep my grip. The brand I use is organic and has a citrus scent that isn't nearly as hostile smelling as the normal acetone nail polish removers. I'll post the link to it below. Ask your instructor (or the pole manufacturer if you own it) and make sure the nail polish remover won't damage the pole you are using. Baby powder will make a gigantic mess, so I wouldn't advise using it, but there is a powder called Mighty Grip that some girls in my class have used. It's specifically for use in pole dancing classes and doesn't make a mess.

As you probably already know, don't wear any lotion to class. Bring a thick towel with you and pat yourself down frequently as well as the pole.

If you own the pole, wash it after every workout with liquid washing soap and dry it very thoroughly. Run the nail polish remover down it right before the next workout.

The site below is a good resource for pole exercise.

Have fun!

1. Don't put lotion on your hands and body.. Instead of using lotion, use a creamy body wash. e.g. dove, olay, caress, etc.

                                    OR

2. Put a small amount of baby powder in the palms of your hands.
